Be A Mentor (BAM) is a new program starting at Edy Ridge this month. We are looking for caring adults willing to volunteer 30 minutes a week with an Edy student. During this time mentors and students will spend quality time in the library playing a game, reading a book, coloring, putting together a puzzle, just chatting or even a quick game of H-O-R-S-E on the playground (whatever the child chooses). It is our understanding and belief that students develop and excel both socially and academically when they feel safe and connected to their school community. Mentor programs provide another level of support and attention to students we feel would benefit from a safe connection with a(nother) caring adult.
If you are interested in learning more or volunteering please complete the survey created by the program facilitator and counselor, Jamie Sheppard.
