About Liam’s $6 Club

Liam Jaussi is a 14 year old eighth grader and a former Edy Ridge Wolf.  In June, 2010 (right before starting kindergarten at Edy Ridge) he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and endured 3 major surgeries and 33 radiation treatments. When Liam found out that people would be donating money to help children at “his hospital,” he emptied his piggy bank because he wanted to help too. At the annual Heart of Doernbecher Auction, amid donations of tens of thousands of dollars, Liam approached the auctioneer and gave her a little plastic bag with $6 in it because, as he explained, “I am now six years old”. That simple act inspired the audience to match his donation and give in record amounts. It also inspired the Doernbecher Foundation to create Liam’s $6 Club so that everyone can feel like they have contributed to help children with serious medical conditions.

Edy Ridge has joined the effort and raises money each year for Liam's $6 Club. As of today, Edy Ridge Wolves have raised over $55,000 for brain cancer research!
